What’s Happening at the Arboretum

Many exciting ventures are planned for this summer at the Arboretum! From gardening in the Community Garden to Yoga at Oak Hammock, there will surely be something for everyone!

Arboretum Summer Schedule

Gardening at the Community Garden:

The UCF Arboretum engages students and the community through experience based learning, research, volunteer opportunities, educational workshops and guided tours.  Establishing new partnerships with other UCF departments, such as Wellness and Health Promotion Services (WHPS) and the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) is allowing us to offer students and the community more opportunities to interact with their natural environment.
Monday:  8am – 10am; 5pm – 7pm
Tuesday: 8am – 10am
Wednesday: 5pm – 7pm
Thursday: 8am – 10am
Friday:     8am – 10am
Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. 
Groups of 5 or more can visit the arboretum website to reserve spots at least one week in advance.

Arboretum Yoga
Yoga at Oak Hammock:
Strengthen, stretch, align the body and increase flexibility using continuous non-stop flowing movements.  Yoga helps relieve physical, mental and emotional stress and seeks to bring out the best in you.  Join the RWC as they host this weekly yoga session in the Arboretum Oak Hammock every Wednesday at 9:30am.

Arboretum Hikes
Weekly Guided Hikes:
Come join us for a relaxing and educational tour.  Experience the benefits of nature as you explore the beautiful scenery at UCF.  Our guided Natural Land hikes will lead you through diverse ecosystems full of interesting wildlife.

Lake Claire Trail
Arboretum Trail

Volunteering at The Garden:Have extra time this summer? Join Orlando Care’s Garden Program and help share your love of the environment with Orlando’s youth!
There are 3 different volunteer opportunities with The Garden
that provide many ways for you to get involved:
  • Garden Caretaker
  • Garden Guide
  • Guest Lecturer
